This policy explains what personal data Stay Prepped collects, why, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who we are
Stay Prepped (stayprepped.co.uk) is run by Precious Memories Ltd (company number 17332454), registered at 7 Brabazon Avenue, Wallington SM6 9ES, United Kingdom. Precious Memories Ltd is the data controller for any personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about data protection at updates@stayprepped.co.uk or by post at the address above.
The short version
- Our tools run in your browser. What you type into them stays on your device.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- If you sign up for our newsletter or contact us, we use your details only for that purpose.
Data stored on your device by our tools
Our calculators and the preparedness score save your inputs and last result in your browser's local storage, so they are there when you come back. This data:
- stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else
- can be removed with the clear buttons on each tool, or by clearing your browser's site data
We also store your light or dark theme choice in local storage if you change it.
Under PECR, storing information on your device that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for does not need consent. Saving your own tool inputs falls into this category.
Newsletter
If you sign up, we collect your email address. We use it only to send you the newsletter. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
Email addresses are stored with our email provider, Resend, which acts as our data processor. We do not sell or share your email address.
Contact form
If you contact us, we collect your name, email address and message so that we can reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. We keep messages for no longer than needed to deal with them, and in any case no longer than 12 months.
Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page views. These services do not use cookies, do not track you across other websites and do not collect personal data that identifies you. They tell us things like which pages are popular so we can improve the site. If analytics is enabled, the provider will be named here.
Server logs and security
Our hosting provider may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the site secure and working. This is based on our legitimate interest in running a secure website. We use it to prevent abuse, such as limiting repeated form submissions.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. To use these rights, contact us.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We will update this page if anything changes and show the date at the top.
